Autumn is like the Goldilocks of seasons, not too hot, not too cold, just right! Walks in the cool breeze with the crunching of leaves below your feet, and cozy evenings in reading a book and sipping on a pumpkin spice latte (yes B is not just B, but a Basic B!). However, everyone knows the best thing about Autumn is the colours. Nothing is more enticing than ruby reds, golden browns, and zingy oranges. This post is to celebrate the beginning of Fall and a love affair with Autumnal beauty.
This eyeshadow quad in sunset by Max Studio was a lovely little purchase from T K Maxx, one of my favourite places to browse and find some really fantastic makeup bargains from high-end brands. Unfortunately because this is an American makeup brand (a lot of the best are!), it’s not easy to get hold of and even online I can only find it on ebay, Target or T J Maxx (American T K Maxx). If you are lucky enough to find it, then I can tell you the colours are great! Really warm and reminiscent of all the beautiful Autumn leaves.
I initially did the swatches on my arm and was concerned about the pigmentation as I needed a dab of water to get them to really shimmer. However when I came to producing the look below one swipe of a dry eyeshadow brush and the colours really popped! If you are looking for a palette with all the shades of Autumn, then you really can’t go wrong with this one, but if you can’t get your hands on one then the Morphe 35o eyeshadow palette certainly has it covered for all the colours of Fall.
This look was created with the Max Studio light gold in the inner corner, bronze on the lid, peach gold above the crease and below the lash line, and dark brown on the lower lash line for more definition. The khaki eyeshadow is from one of my all time favourite palettes, Makeup Revolution’s Fortune Favours the Brave.
This is my first time trying a Ciaté lipstick and this particular one was designed by fashion It Girl Olivia Palermo. I will be honest and say for a while this has been sitting in a drawer unused, an impulse purchase on one of my mad shopping sprees, but I really wish I had used this sooner! The colour is called cashmere and it certainly lives up to that name. A caramel nude, this lipstick is buttery soft and a dream to apply. The colour is beautiful and would suit a variety of skin tones. It doesn’t have the staying power of a matte lippy but it sure does last a while. I am besotted with this lipstick and it will be making frequent appearances in my makeup bag throughout Autumn.
Of course I couldn’t possibly use a Ciaté lipstick without using one of their fabulous paint pots. This khaki nail polish in Tweed and Tails is one of my favourite Ciaté nail polishes (although pretty much all Ciaté paint pots are my favourite!). The colour is a true khaki, one that adds a different colour dimension to the bronze and browns of Autumn but still creates a very cohesive look. The coverage is excellent, just two coats, and the shine finish is brilliant.
