I don’t know about you but if there is an easier way to do something, I want to know about it. Cleaning my makeup brushes is one of those things.
I clean my brushes as often as possibly with Beauty Blender brush soap, but it becomes such a chore and with a drying time of at least a day I often neglect this important step in my beauty routine.
On top of that, I’m sure we have all done it (at least I hope it’s not just me!), when you come to do your makeup, you’ve got the perfect glam smokey eye look all ready in your mind, and you pick up your brushes only to find they still have the eyeshadow from the night before. Usually, I’m ashamed to admit, in these situations I try and wipe as much excess shadow on some toilet roll and keep my fingers crossed my eyeshadows don’t get mixed together in the palette.
Not any longer!
On a recent shopping trip I popped into Superdrug and spotted what I hoped would be the answer to my brush cleaning prayers, the Makeup Brush Cleanser by B.
B. is for beautiful and is a brand exclusive to Superdrug, which includes everything from cruelty free makeup brushes to vegan skincare, as well as on-trend affordable makeup. This particular brush cleanser claims to remove bacteria whilst conditioning any makeup brush with just 2-3 sprays!
Obviously, I had to do a little test with one of the darkest eyeshadows I own, with a before and after shot for you all to see.
As instructed I sprayed three times directly on the bristles before wiping my brush on a little bit of tissue. Miraculously, in a matter of seconds nearly all the eyeshadow had transferred onto the tissue, and a few more wipes revealed a beautifully clean brush. What was even better, the brush was dry and ready to use within a couple of minutes!
This spray really is a godsend. I still make sure to wash my brushes properly with soap, but when I’m short on time, or need to reuse a brush for a different colour in the same look, this spray is perfect. Oh and did I mention it’s only £4.99 and on offer in Superdrug now at £3.29! Definite bargain.
