I love all the seasons, mainly because it means I can change my whole wardrobe and justify buying more makeup. However, the change from Winter to Spring is definitely one of my favourites. It’s such a contrast in style and look, and even though it means I have to crack out a razor and begin the dreaded leg shave, I love being able to wear lighter clothes and brighter colours.
This year I am trying to bring the makeup products and trends I loved during the colder seasons into spring but find the warmer, livelier shades and finishes.
First up is make up base. As the sun starts to peek out from behind the clouds, I like to wear a tinted moisturiser to give my skin that healthy glow. My go to is Rodial Skin Tint+ with added spf20. It glides onto my skin and I can easily apply it with my fingers in a matter of seconds for a flawless medium coverage base. It really is my own skin but better! Since it is a tinted moisturiser, I do apply a small amount of Nars Pore & Shine primer on my nose, otherwise by the end of the day my excessively oily skin has melted away some of my foundation.
I’m obsessed with peach shimmer eyeshadows, and Mythology by MAC is just sheer juicy sparkle perfection. I’ve teamed this with Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Golden Sands to add extra dimension to the eye look. I love cream eyeshadows as they are so easy to apply and this one glides on so smoothly and is easy to blend.
As it is spring, I only apply a hint of contour powder and go slightly more crazy on that highlight. I like to wear frosted peachy shades on my skin, not full on gold but enough to add a bit of colour and warmth to my face. Here, I am wearing Rodial Instaglam Compact Deluxe illuminating Powder in shade one and as you can see it gives a nice glow without being too glittery.
Finally, I am obsessed with Rodial matte Suede Lip pencils (see what I thought about the shade Big Apple here), so for spring I chose the latest shade called Calabasas. Just like Big Apple, this lipstick is silky soft and feels amazing on the lips. It doesn’t dry out ONE LITTLE BIT, and is one of my favourite lipsticks to apply. Calabasas is a beautiful light terracotta shade, and I just think it is a really unique colour and perfect for that pop of every day colour.
