What is this thing peeking out from the eternally grey sky?
Sun? What is sun? and shining in August of all months!
Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, I decided a visit to Calderstones Park was in order. Not just another pretty park, Calderstones is full of secluded wooded areas, expansive green fields, a lake, a playground and is also home to ancient megaliths that are reportedly older than stonehenge! Pretty great park ey?
However, let’s get back to the pretty. Inside Calderstones are the Harthill Botanical Gardens. Almost 4000 different flowers and plants make up the most idyllic space I’ve ever visited, including Old English gardens and an amazingly serene Japanese paradise, very The Secret Garden.
I find dressing for this time of year particularly difficult, a bit too nippy to wear a summer dress and I get tired of hiding my outfit underneath a jacket. So when I spotted this frilled shirt in the River Island sale I added to my basket straight away. Whilst helping me channel my inner flamenco dancer, the sleeves are light enough to keep my arms cool in the heat but still covered when it gets chilly.
I live for leggings. Give me stretchy material over structured trousers any day. Saying that, this pair from Boden combine the beautiful tailoring of trousers with all the comfort of leggings. Yes I will eat that pizza guilt free! I wear them with everything and these plus my matching black pair will be making frequent appearances in my Autumn/Winter wardrobe.
My gold heels are a purchase from the bargain-gods TK Maxx. The size of the heel is just what I need to give me a bit of extra height but allow me to focus on the flowers and not my feet. I barely complained about them hurting the whole way round. Sort of.
Yes that’s it. Gaze your eyes on the most blogger bag ever. The shape, the embroidery, the pink, everything I have ever looked for in a bag. It’s really practical too, a handle on the top for when I’m attempting to be a fashion blogger and don’t know what to do with my hands, but also a long over the body strap making it perfect for anyone with a busy lifestyle. Well done Marks & Spencer. Uh huh this floral dream is from none other than the parent of all high street stores.
In went a pair of sunnies, Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Kim K W and my Rodial Dragon’s Blood hyaluronic tonic for when my skin needed a little pick me up and I was good to go.
Oh and did I mention I got to stroke the cutest baby sausage doggo called Dexter! Day made.
