I’ve been thinking about what I’m going to do over this time period and how to get the most out of it.
Being the final 6 months of my PhD, I will have to start writing my thesis now instead of later but to break that time up with more fun things (not that science isn’t fun 🙄). I’m thinking baking, play the piano and experimenting with makeup! It doesn’t matter that no one is going to see my makeup or hear me play, I’m doing it for me but at the same time I’m not going to force myself to do to anything I don’t feel like or feel pressured to learn something new or start something big just because we have this time.
I think it’s important to take a break and reset without anything or anyone sucking your energy. Only do things that you really want to and help you feel better now and for the future when this is over.
What are your plans for lockdown?

The @jackieaina @anastasiabeverlyhills eyeshadow palette is incredible! The colours are soooooo pigmented but still really wearable. It’s like a work of art itself.

Who else loves earrings?! I really need to wear th Who else loves earrings?! I really need to wear them more often because 1. Jabbing them through the piercing that has been empty for months is no fun and games 😂 and 2. They just elevate your look to the next level!! Seriously, whether they’re long, studs, gold, sparkly, colourful, patterned, they make me feel so put together. 2020 is my year for accessorising!
Gifted| Back to work and I’m really not here for Gifted| Back to work and I’m really not here for it! What I am here for is these natural Wispies eyelashes from @ardellbeauty. I do love false lashes but because I don’t have a lot of lid space, I find they always look heavy and unnatural on me so I give up and they get shoved in a drawer. That’s why I was dubious at first with these but the second I put them on, I fell in love. The natural style adds volume to my lashes without looking heavy and really do pass as being my own, even in person!! They’re easy to put on as the band is nice and flexible and stay put throughout the day. These are my lashes for sure! Have you tried Ardell lashes before?

The Body Shop Christmas Gift Collection Play For Peace
November 12, 2017 Secret Rendezvous•Skin Care•Skin Deep

Christmas at The Body Shop

It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

The Body Shop have released their Christmas range. Full of festive bath treats and seasonal skincare, this year’s products are not only bigger and better than ever, they are part of an important mission to help refugee children smile.

This Christmas forget monopoly, nobody needs broken tables and crying kids, take a break from adulting by picking up some The Body Shop gifts that transform into games the whole family can enjoy. With cute rubber ducks, groovy money box robots, quizzes and loads more, by playing with The Body Shop this season you’ll be supporting International Alert’s Peace Play Project, which helps Syrian refugee children to heal through play.
For many children, The Peace Play Project is the only chance they get to spend time with other kids and finally be children again after having to flee their homes and become refugees. So this year, every gift you buy from the seasonal collections will help fund the Peace Play Project in Lebanon for a year.

As well as lots of games, the fun also comes in a limited edition makeup and fragrance collection designed by Henry Holland at House of Holland. My particular favourite is this throwback to my teenage years sparkling shimmer body puff. I have visions of my younger self patting that sparkle laden puff over my whole body until it could be seen from space and this Christmas I plan on repeating that whole experience with this gorgeous super soft fluffy version.

I also had to add this stocking filler cutie to my basket, I’m sure he was staring at me in the shop tweeting “buy me, buy me!” so in he went. I’ve christened him Robin, original I know and he is here to add a touch of festivity to my bathroom. After all, what’s Christmas if you don’t have a ridiculous amount of decorations in every single room of the house. Btw mid November is a totally acceptable time to put them up right?!?

The Body Shop also have an amazing Pick ‘N’ Mix of bath bombs and bubbles.

Moringa Fragrance Bath Bubble

Vanilla Delight Bath Bomb

Strawberry Bath Bomb

Mango Bath Bomb

Pink Grapefruit Bath Bubble

Coconut Bath Bubble

Candied Plum Bath Bomb

Green Tea Fragrance Bath Bomb

A whole selection of mini bath delights, I picked up several of each and plan on having a bath extravaganza one evening by added one of every flavour and creating a rainbow experience.

Finally, The Body Shop Christmas wouldn’t be complete without the festive scents collection. This year we have Vanilla Chai, Frosted Plum and Frosted Berries and they all smell incredible.

Shower gel, sugar scrub, body butter, hand cream, bath foam, candles and body mist, you name it there is a product to suit your vanilla/plum/berry dreams. I’m going Vanilla Chai with the creamy shower gel and luxurious body butter. By the way, The Body Shop body butters are THE only moisturisers intense enough to get rid of my dry skin, I want snowflakes not skin flakes this winter. I also have the Vanilla Chai Body Mist which has a gorgeous subtle shimmer and you better believe I’m going to spray it on top of my powder puff sparkle.

It’s Christmas baby!!

Oh my goodness I’m in love with everything! That little robin is so cute, I’m not surprised you got him!
I remember that shimmer body puff from years ago, I used to do the exact same, I’m pretty sure at one point I used to use a body puff as a face powder so I sparkled like a vampire out of twilight! Lol
So lovely that they’re supported such a great cause, I’ll definitely have to pick up a few bits!

I love how TBS choose a charity to donate to every year, they’re such a fab company in that sense (and in a lot of senses) and their packaging and gifts are always so funky. I’ve picked up some of the little bath bombs/bubbles myself already and I’ve got a few of their Christmas metallic lip liquids which are GORGEOUS! I am a little disappointed that they haven’t brought any new xmas scents out this year though, i was hoping for something more exciting than recent years!
