[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Pixi Pretties. Very reminiscent of the cool group so many of us wanted to be a part of in high school. I would have done anything to be part of that exclusive club and be one of the “it” girls. Even now my desire to be part of the in-crowd is strong. I love to go to the must-visit hangouts and wear what all the fashion bloggers deem stylish. However, there’s no need for me to go all Mean Girls and start cutting holes in my t-shirt just yet because Pixi Beauty have an exclusive invite to this Pixi Pretty gang in the form of three new collections.
Pixi Pretty – Chloe Morelle
The inspiration behind Chloe Morello’s makeup duo is good old fashioned romance. Being in love is all about flushed cheeks, natural radiance and a luminous complexion and the Palette Chloette does just that. It’s a nifty little palette that contains three eyeshadow duos, three eyeliner/brow shades and three blushers. It’s the perfect collection to create a whole look, that you can mix and match depending on your style. It even has a handy little mirror that allows you to apply your makeup on the go. The blush shades are my favourite in this palette. They have the most buttery soft formula I have come a cross in a blush. Peach, rose and a bronzed pink, different colours for different moods, all with the addition of subtle shimmer.
The eyeshadows all have a shimmer finish too and come in a gorgeous array of neutrals that would suit any complexion. Each duo has a light and dark shade so you can build your eye look for a more sultry finish for the evening. All eyeshadows are very soft and apply well with a finger or dense brush. I did find them to be more powdery than the other collections and it does take a while to build up the level of coverage I desire. However, I suspect this is because these shades are designed for creating a natural diffuse eye, that is meant to enhance, rather than a bold statement look.
The Lip Icing is my new handbag staple. You can wear it over lipstick or on it’s own to add that extra little sparkle and dimension to complete your makeup. Plus it smells like rose and vanilla cupcakes!!
Pixi Pretty – Dulce Candy
If you’re a shimmer eyeshadow girl, this palette is for you. It’s not for the faint hearted and should be used with caution to prevent shimmer overdose! Named Cafe con Dulce, this palette contains nine universal shades with that almost foil shine finish. They have a more creamy texture than the Palette Chloette and feel similar to the popular Colourpop Supershock shadows. I couldn’t possibly pick a favourite as they are all stunning and I’m currently trying to see if I can create a look using all nine colours as I can’t bare to leave one out.
Dulce’s Lip Candy palette was the biggest surprise for me. I never ever buy lipsticks in a palette form. It makes me think of being a young child buying my first makeup kit with blue eyeshadows and razor sharp eyeliner pencils. However, after trying this one, I am now an official lip palette convert. Well a Pixi Pretties palette convert at least. The formula is so creamy they glide onto the lips. Each one feels moisturising and smooth all whilst giving me a delightful dose of colour.
The only downside is of course, the travel element. Unless you have a huge handbag and lip brush, if you want to top up your lippy, you’re pretty much screwed. I’d love it if the most popular shades from this palette could be made into lipstick bullets. I’m putting a vote in for Canela, a pinky brown that enhances my natural lip colour and would look lovely whatever the occasion.
Pixi Pretty – Weylie Hoang
I love, love, love this little eyeshadow palette my Weylie Hoang. The Let’s Talk Eyes palette reminds me of coffee, which is probably why I love it so much. Light lattes, creamy caramels and sultry espressos it’s the perfect combination of earthy tones and subtle shimmers. It has the best pigmentation out of all the collections and is the perfect portable size. Combined with a smudge-free dual-ended liner, this eye set has everything you need to create a multi-dimensional look.
If there’s one thing that Pixi Beauty know how to do perfectly it’s creating products that bring out the natural beauty in everyone. I really love every collection designed by the Pixi Pretties. You can clearly see the detail and thought behind each product as well as Pixi’s main beauty ethos. You can create so many looks using any palette, as they each one compliments the other. My go to at the moment is the Weylie eyeshadows, Chloe blush in Promise and Dulce lip cream in Canela.
Simply, naturally, pretty.
