For me, a final spritz of perfume elevates my look, making me feel polished and put together. I enjoy changing my scent with the seasons, my outfit, even my mood. It’s the perfect finishing touch that allows me to express my personality as well as give me that certain je ne sais quoi.
The problem is, it’s not always easy finding new fragrances to add to your collection. How many of us have purchased a perfume because you loved it on a friend but was completely different when you wore it yourself? How about when you popped into a perfume shop, loved a fragrance sprayed on a tester card only to get home and dislike it on your skin? I’m sure many of us have been there and I certainly have several bottles of unused perfumes hidden in a drawer I pretend doesn’t exist to prove it!
You see, many factors come into play when trying on a perfume, stress, medication and even diet affect how a fragrance interacts with your skin. What may smell good one morning may be entirely different a week later and unless you’re willing to keep going into town to the point of arousing suspicion from the shop security or forced to purchase it because you’ve gone through a whole tester bottle (anyone else just panic about things like this or just me?), there needs to be a better way to try different perfumes.
Well hello there Scentaddict by The Fragrance Shop*, it’s nice to meet you. Scentaddict is the perfect subscription service to help you discover new fragrances. Each month you can choose from over 300 perfumes from over 50 brands and have a sample of your chosen fragrance sent to you for just £12 a month with free delivery. My current Scentaddict favourite has to be Goldea The Roman Night by Bvlgari. A combination of night-blooming Jasmine and Tuberose blossoms create an irresistible scent that is sensual yet playful, the perfect day to evening fragrance.
The best part about this subscription service is that the sample isn’t just some piddly sized tube that gets lost at the bottom of your handbag and is gone in one use. This travel-friendly sleek black or white atomiser is filled with a 30-day supply and can last up to a month depending on how much you love it and whether you like to be bougie like me and walk into a fragrance veil sprayed in front of me.
What’s even better is you can redeem the £12 subscription fee against a larger sized bottle if you fall in love with a particular perfume or keep changing your selection until you find “the one”.
Each Scentaddict sample is also sent in letterbox friendly packaging, so you can smell beautiful and limit your contact with the outside world. Perfect! Although the atomiser is so nice, I actually don’t mind interacting with people if it means I get to show off my new perfume pick.
Scentaddict by The Fragrance Shop is the stressfree way to try new perfumes. From Alexander McQueen to Zadig & Voltaire you really are spoilt for choice. Simply choose a scent and enjoy a different deluxe sample every month. It’s the perfect way to start your fragrance journey. B x
